A major cybercrime racket was busted after police arrested two individuals involved in running a fake online job scam. The accused allegedly targeted unemployed youth by posting attractive job advertisements on social media and job portals, promising high salaries and work-from-home opportunities.
Victims were asked to pay “registration” and “training” fees before receiving appointment letters. Once the money was transferred, all communication was cut off. Police stated that more than 300 people across multiple states were cheated, with losses exceeding ₹50 lakh. Digital evidence, bank records, and laptops were seized during the raid. Officials have advised citizens to verify job offers and avoid making upfront payments.
